Seems that this free edition of wordpress will only allow me to link to Youtube & Google video. Shame really, I wanted to use Vimeo for better quality. More investigation needed (scratches head). Mentors, where are you at stupid o’clock when I need you :-) ?

McLaren 95 F1 GTR

p>Filmed at Goodwood, September 2008- Harrods McLaren 95 F1 GTR. A great day out.

To Sir Stirling Moss for the reason -Happy 70th Birthday. Sincere thanks to David Clarke (you lucky man) for the opportunity and Derek Bell, multiple winner Le Mans 24 Hours for the instruction & history lesson.

You simply would not believe what this car can do- this video does not do it justice at all. The car handles like it’s on rails, and the torque is emmense.

Well done Gordon Murray for a simply stunning design. The car is truly worth every penny.

New focus

Right, it’s been a very long time since I’ve been here, sorry. No excuses, just been very busy, and this has had to take a back seat for a while.

I’ve decided I’m going to investigate what this social media thing is all about.
I’ve got twitter sorted @hadleypaul
Not bothering with facebook yet. Seems a bit pants to me right now. Maybe I’ll be proved wrong, or forced into it, let’s see how I develop first.
Next comes this rss feeds thing.
Then a new look for the blog, adding technology bits, widgets, plug ins etc as I go, learning all the way of course.

Yesterday I went to a conference organised by the Arts Council called http://getambition.com which was very good. Very inspired by @Documentally. Great sense of humour- knows absolutely everything about new media technology, so I’ll be learning a lot from his blog and how he does stuff, what tricks he uses, especially the technology involved and how to send immediate updates to twitter, this blog, audioboo etc. His blog is here: http://ourmaninside.com/

Mark Steadman is a true star also- he’s giving me lots of mentoring advice, and I really can’t thank him enough. Plus, he’s a Jack Daniels fan too, so that’s all good in my book. Top bloke and a real gent.

I’ve put them both on my blogroll, along with Pete Ashton. I’ll add a couple more later. So there you go, that’s the first thing learned today.

Like the majority of people I meet in this social media field, so far they seem like good souls, and willing to help where possible. Got to be careful though- not to get others to do stuff for me, got to learn how to do this myself, otherwise, what’s the point of trying?

Kit required: mac (ditch this pc ). Zoom recorder (try to get a H2, the H4 seems a bit fragile to be honest). iphone. Looks like this could be an expensive start. Time for lunch. Back soon (ish)
